More rain and more sewing here in Nebraska. I have finished the center of Roseville Album and all of the blocks are sewn together. I am now working on the border. I always planned to change the applique border of this pattern to something simpler. At some point I cut out 4 inch circles in red Kaffe Fassett prints thinking I would frame the quilt in circles eventually.
The circles became a semi circle border which I really like.
Then I added a row of smaller circles.
Now the question is should I add a second row of smaller circles?
There are three more days of rain forecast for our area so more sewing is in the future. Our weather turned a little severe yesterday. One of my quilting friends sent me this picture of a storm cloud she saw on her way home from work, this eventually did turn into a Category 1 tornado with a short touchdown.
Luckily there were no injuries and only minor property damage. In the meantime spring flowers are blooming.
This tulip is my first blossom of some tulip bulbs my son brought back from a trip through Amsterdam
genuine Dutch tulips!
Happy Stitching,
Cheri
Just beautiful Cheri, The semi circle border look great. You sure have a nice collection of pink Kaffe fabrics.
ReplyDeleteYour Roseville Album quilt blocks turned out so beautiful. I love the border. Much better than the original.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful Cheri. I have a circle border on my quilt, but I think the changes you made suit Roseville perfectly. If you like appliqueing circles (and I do) I would definitely go for the second row as well.
ReplyDeleteIt was wonderful to see your border develop from picture to picture. I love the half circles and the first row of circles - it's delightfully playful and works so well with your top!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic finish. The center of the quilt is beautiful and your choice for the border is perfect for the whimsy style. It's really lovely.
ReplyDeleteLove your half circles. The pinks set your Roseville off really nicely--such a good idea!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I love the border treatments. I need to dig my out..
ReplyDeleteYour circles are perfect!
ReplyDeleteWow! I love it. You've probably made up your mind about the borders, but I think whatever you decide, I'll love! What an heirloom!
ReplyDeleteI'm in awe. Your quilt is stunning. Hugs, Cathy
ReplyDeleteWOW visiting from the doll link up and you with the doll quilt and Kim McLean pattern mostly sewn, I hit the jack pot of views.... no ideas on the circles... it is your needle and thread... no doubt we will see when you decide. Thanks for sharing ALL your goodies.
